About This Course

The Bachelor of Engineering Technology is for innovators and problem-solvers with an interest in developing in-demand skills across broad areas of engineering. Your degree will enable you to work alongside engineers on real-world projects in all engineering fields. You'll learn valuable skills that will set you up for success in the industries of the future where your work can make a real impact. You will study foundation subjects in mathematics and physics, combined with options in programming, electrical systems, sustainable design, materials selection and mechanics to develop the skills for a constantly evolving world. This degree features UOW's flexible structure, which gives you a foundation of core expertise, a major in the area that relates to your degree, alongside a flexible zone you can use to explore a second major, pick up two minors or explore electives across the university, all within a standard three-year timeline (or part-time equivalent). The Bachelor of Engineering Technology is a pathway into the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Single Major).

Requirements

Minimum Selection Rank (ATAR + adjustments) of 65 for guaranteed entry
Assumed knowledge: any two units of English and Mathematics Standard 2
Recommended studies: Mathematics Advanced, Engineering Studies and/or any two units of Science
Recent secondary education applicants considered on ATAR, IBAS (minimum 24.25), GCE A-Levels, New Zealand NCEA Level 3, or comparable overseas senior secondary qualifications
Higher education applicants must have completed at least half a year of full-time study (or part-time equivalent) at Bachelor's degree level or higher in Natural and Physical Sciences, Information Technology, or Engineering
Work and life experience is generally not considered; applicants not meeting academic requirements are encouraged to explore UOW College or TAFE Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC) pathways
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants may apply via UOW's Woolyungah Indigenous Centre's Indigenous Admissions Program (IAP)
Domestic applicants with overseas qualifications must provide academic records; course must be at least one-sixth complete; non-English documents must include official English translation
English language proficiency required for all applicants for whom English is not a first language (accepted tests include IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Cambridge, and OET for specific health-related courses)
