The Bachelor of Environmental Design offers three degree-specific majors: Architecture (Extended Major), Environmental Geography and Planning, and Landscape Architecture. Students can also choose second majors from other UWA bachelor's degrees, including Fine Arts, Geography, and Human Geography and Planning.
Students at the School of Design have access to studio spaces, a Design Hub with senior student mentors, digital fabrication equipment (including plastic extrusion 3D printers, laser cutters and CNC milling machines), multiple computer labs with 24-hour access, a printmaking studio with etching presses and spray booths, multimedia production facilities, and the Cullity Gallery where students can exhibit their work.
You will learn to understand the histories and theories of environmental, urban, architectural and landscape design, planning and policy; apply principles of design and planning to the creation, preservation and sustaining of natural and constructed environments; develop strategic and analytical skills that inform design approaches; and become accomplished in various modes of graphic and technical communication and representation.
Bachelor of Environmental Design graduates may choose to pursue postgraduate studies in the Master of Architecture, Master of Building Information Modelling, Graduate Diploma in Building Information Modelling (Online), Master of Landscape Architecture, Master of Urban Design, Graduate Diploma in Urban Design, Graduate Certificate in Urban Design, or the Master of Urban and Regional Planning.
