Exercise scientists work in a wide range of settings. These include professional sporting organisations, hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, community health services, fitness centres, research institutes, and private practice. From your first year, you’ll learn in state-of-the-art facilities and develop the practical skills needed to make a real-world impact. You’ll gain career-ready experience through placements and industry partnerships with clinics, hospitals, and professional sporting organisations, including connections with elite clubs such as the Newcastle Knights, Newcastle Jets, and Central Coast Mariners. You’ll also learn to collaborate effectively with exercise physiologists, physiotherapists, doctors, and other allied health professionals to support better health outcomes. This degree provides a streamlined pathway into the Master of Exercise Physiology, supporting your progression toward becoming an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Studying in a region with strong links to sport, health services, and community wellbeing means you’ll be well positioned to make a meaningful impact on health and performance at both individual and population levels. You can also broaden your career options by combining Exercise and Sport Science with Business or Psychological Science. Exercise and Sport Science students are encouraged to consider concurrent enrolment in the Bachelor of Applied Data Science program.
