In your second year, you can select from an extensive list of specialisations including: Broadcast Specialisation – Viz Artist focused, Cinematography Specialisation, Directing Specialisation (Fiction), Directing Specialisation (Non-Fiction), Editing Specialisation (Fiction), Filmmaker Specialisation (Fiction), Producing Specialisation, Production Design Specialisation, Screen Studies Specialisation, and Screenwriting Specialisation.
You will have access to Hollywood standard state-of-the-art technology including Sony F65 and F3 digital motion picture cameras, and Arri 35mm and 16mm cameras, all with Zeiss prime lenses. There are over 40 Mac editing suites with Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro, as well as a Pro-Tools HD 5.1 audio mixing suite, and a fully equipped three-camera digital television studio. Bond's equipment loan store also gives you the opportunity to use industry standard lighting, camera, and sound equipment for your own film projects.
The Bachelor of Film and Television is a 2-year program comprising 6 semesters and 24 subjects in total. Starting semesters are available in January, May, and September.
Bond University has strong connections with the local production industry. Students can gain industry credits and make contacts working on movie sets, television shows, and at broadcast events. You will also meet industry professionals on campus at Screen Queensland's Creative Hub — an Australian-first co-working space developed by Bond University and Screen Queensland where screen industry creatives such as filmmakers, producers, writers and game developers work alongside students, sharing green screens, boardrooms and office space.
Yes. Bond University Film & Television Awards (BUFTA) is a film competition open to Year 11 and 12 high school students. The Best Overall Filmmaker is awarded a full scholarship to study a Bachelor of Film and Television at Bond University.
