You can choose from 19 engineering specialisations — including Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Mining, Quantum, Renewable Energy, Software, and Telecommunications Engineering — and four Fine Arts specialisations: Animation & Moving Image, Art Theory, Music, and Visual Arts. The Flexible First Year in Engineering allows you to study core subjects and explore electives before committing to a specialisation.
The degree takes 5.7 years to complete full-time, or the part-time equivalent. It consists of 44 courses totalling 264 Units of Credit (UOC), with 16 courses for Fine Arts and 28 for Engineering.
Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is built into the Bachelor of Engineering, guaranteeing at least 60 days of approved Engineering Professional Practice experience. Through the Fine Arts degree, you'll take part in professional development experiences such as exhibitions, screenings, studio internships, performances, and ensembles, supported by experienced professional artists, musicians and creative practitioners. You can also collaborate on real-world engineering problems through the ChallENG program.
Yes, the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) component of this double degree is fully accredited with Engineers Australia at the level of Professional Engineer. Graduates are also recognised internationally through the Washington Accord. Students should refer to individual specialisation pages for specific accreditation details.
For domestic students in a Commonwealth Supported Place, the indicative first year fee is $8,000 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $49,500. For international students, the indicative first year fee is $57,000 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $351,000. All fees are subject to annual review and are indicative only.
