The lowest selection rank to receive an offer (ATAR including any adjustment factors) is 75.70. Entry is competitive and eligible applicants are ranked in order of merit. Adjustment factors of up to 28 aggregate points may apply, including equity access schemes and subject adjustments.
The Bachelor of Food Technology and Nutrition/Bachelor of Business takes 4 years of full-time study to complete. Intakes are available in February and July each year.
You must have completed VCE units 3 and 4 (or equivalent) with: a study score of at least 25 in English (other than EAL) or at least 27 in EAL; AND a study score of at least 20 in one of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods, or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.
This course is available as a Commonwealth Supported Place. The annual student contribution amount ranges from AU$4,738 to AU$17,399 per standard year of full-time study depending on the band of each enrolled subject. The Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) is a maximum of AU$373 for 2026. HECS-HELP loans may be available to defer tuition fees, and SA-HELP may be available for the SSAF. An Australian Dairy Blends Scholarship worth up to AU$11,958 is also available for eligible students enrolling in this program.
The first half of the food technology and nutrition component is conducted on the Melbourne City campus, and the second half on the Bundoora campus. Business subjects are based at the City campus. You will have access to RMIT's Food Innovation and Research Centre, which features a modern pilot plant simulating industrial production, food preparation and processing equipment, and facilities for sensorial trials.
You can personalise your business studies by selecting from more than 10 business majors and more than 30 business minors in Year 3 and beyond. Available business majors include Business and Technology, Business Information Systems, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Financial Planning, Global Business, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Management and Change, Strategy and Innovation, and Social Impact, among others. Areas of study in the food technology side include food technology, nutrition, and related sciences.
