Common Questions
Yes, the Bachelor of Health Sciences can be studied either on campus or online. However, the online option may require face-to-face engagement for the work integrated learning components in the third year of study. Students also have the option to attend campus for their chosen elective courses in the third year.
The Bachelor of Health Sciences is designed to prepare students for postgraduate study in specialist or allied health fields. Graduates can pursue postgraduate entry-to-practice programs such as the Masters of Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Paramedicine, Counselling, or Social Work, as well as further studies in medicine and other allied health disciplines.
In the third year, students complete four electives chosen from the School of Health Sciences. Courses from the Schools of Business and Arts & Sciences are also available, provided the pre-requisite courses have been completed. Elective options include introductory courses in postgraduate programs such as physiotherapy, speech pathology, social work or counselling, and there are also electives available for students seeking to complete the program fully online.
Students are required to complete the course Experiential Learning in Health, which may include an industry placement or related project to provide real-world experience. This component is part of the third year of study.
Applicants with recent secondary education in Western Australia require an indicative ATAR/Selection Rank of 70 (which includes ATAR plus Adjustment Factors), or an International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 25. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
