You can choose from the following majors: Addiction Studies, Health Promotion, Nutrition, Nutrition Bioscience, Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety, and Occupational Safety and Health. One or more of these majors is externally recognised when studied within this course.
Yes, students are required to complete 75 hours of Professional Practice in their 3rd year of study at a host organisation. Hours will be negotiated with the host organisation and may be outside of normal University hours. Additionally, students choosing the Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety major are required to complete a minimum of 200 hours placement.
For domestic students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $8,950 (Commonwealth supported). For international students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $41,500.
Yes, some units are offered at the South West campus, including those that constitute the majors of Occupational Health and Safety, Nutrition, Health Promotion, and Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety. Where units are not available at the South West campus, students can attend the Joondalup campus or enrol in online units where available. Please note that South West study for the Bachelor of Health Science is not available for international students.
A placement host may have vaccination and other requirements, including vaccination against COVID-19 unless you have a medical exemption. Police clearance, a working with children check and health screenings may also be applicable for some placements. Risk management processes will be followed for all practicum placements.
