Students can choose from six majors: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Health (focusing on digital health systems, data science, and emerging technologies), Biomedical Science (using cutting-edge interactive tech to understand the human body), Clinical Technologies (endorsed by the Australian Neurophysiological Scientists of Australia), Neuroscience (interpreting data from MRI and MEG machines), Nutrition (a hands-on lab-based major focused on how food affects the world), and Public Health and Health Promotion (harnessing digital technology to empower people to live their healthiest lives).
The guaranteed entry ATAR for the Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Science is 65.0. The lowest ATAR to receive an offer in 2025 after adjustment factors was 65.3. If your ATAR is below the guaranteed entry score, you can still be offered a place as your ATAR may be adjusted based on subject adjustments, equity schemes or other factors, with a maximum of 10 subject adjustment points available.
Applicants need VCE Units 3 and 4 with a minimum study score of 20 in any English (except EAL) or 25 in English as Alternate Language (EAL), and a minimum study score of 20 in any Mathematics or equivalent. Applicants who do not meet the mathematics prerequisites will be required to successfully complete Swinburne's MathsLink Methods bridging program.
Yes, there are pathway options available including the Diploma of Health Science (UniLink) and the Diploma of Science (UniLink), both of which allow students to progress into the Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Science with possible credit (advanced standing). Credit available may vary depending on the major selected within the degree.
Swinburne incorporates a range of digital technologies into the course. For example, instead of using traditional methods, students use a virtual dissection table where they can use 3D reconstruction images to digitally dissect the human body and virtual reality to immersively walk into the human structure and learn about its internal workings. All students are also guaranteed a work integrated experience, providing contact with industry.
