Yes. Graduates may apply for personal accreditation and/or registration with external organizations, including Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Scientist (additional requirements may be specified by the accrediting organization) and the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) as a Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach (the elective unit PER2105 Strength and Conditioning must be completed).
The course contains 140 hours of work integrated learning in total. This includes Professional Practicum 1 (WIL4111) with a minimum of 60 hours of WIL in a broad field of exercise science, and Professional Practicum 2 (WIL4112) with a minimum of 80 hours of WIL covering exercise assessment, prescription and delivery. A valid Working With Children Check is required.
No, ACPE courses are not ATAR-dependent. Instead, applicants can be considered for admission via criteria including a minimum NSW HSC or equivalent, relevant VET qualifications (Certificate III, IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma), one year of full-time study at a recognised higher education institute, completion of a Big Picture Education Portfolio, a recognised overseas qualification with demonstrated English proficiency, or demonstration of relevant work experience and motivation to study.
The Bachelor of Health Science (Exercise) can be completed in 3 years full-time or the part-time equivalent. The course spans 6 semesters, each of 12 weeks duration. Upcoming intake dates are 3 August 2026 (Semester 2) and 1 March 2027 (Semester 1).
Yes, this course is FEE-HELP approved for domestic students, and scholarships are also available. The course is delivered on campus at Sydney Olympic Park with selected units available online.
