The degree provides over 1,000 hours of supervised clinical placements across a range of clinical locations. At least one rural or remote clinical placement is also required, broadening your experience beyond metropolitan settings.
Yes. This degree is accredited by the Occupational Therapy Council of Australia Ltd (OTC) and approved by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (OTBA). Graduates will be eligible to apply for registration as an occupational therapist with the OTBA. The program is also approved by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
There are no prerequisites for this course; however, knowledge of SACE stage two biology or equivalent is assumed. The 2024 selection rank is 95.00, with a guaranteed selection rank of 95.00. Adjustment factors are available, and sub-quotas are available for rural and remote applicants. Applicants can apply using Year 12 qualifications, previous higher education study, TAFE/VET qualifications, or through adult entry (STAT/Foundation Studies/tertiary preparation course).
Prior to clinical placements, you will be required to undergo criminal history record assessments and immunisation against infectious disease.
For domestic students in 2026, the annual indicative fee is $11,922 (Commonwealth Supported Place). For international students in 2026, the annual fee is $46,700. The course runs for 5 years full-time.
