Based at our Glen Waverley campus, Holmesglen's Bachelor of Hospitality Management combines practical learning with industry-focused experiences to prepare students for careers in the global hospitality industry. Students learn in industry-standard training environments including Holmesglen's fully operational ZEST training restaurant, cocktail bar, computer laboratories, classrooms, and immersive hospitality retreats at the Holmesglen Eildon Campus and Conference Centre. Throughout the course, students gain hands-on experience using hospitality business simulation software, hotel property management systems, and industry-standard business applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. These facilities replicate real hospitality industry environments and support experiential, collaborative, and practical learning opportunities across hospitality operations, tourism, events, food and beverage, and hotel management.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Domestic Students:

Recent Secondary Education (within the past two years): applicants with recent secondary education are those whose eligibility is based on the completion of VCE (or equivalent) within the current year or the previous two years, and must have successfully completed one of the following: Units 3 and 4 in English other than EAL with a study score of at least 25, or English as an Additional Language (EAL) with a study score of at least 30. ATAR will be considered as part of selection considerations. Prior to enrolment, learners must complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and attend an interview, providing certified copies of relevant qualifications.
Vocational Education and Training (VET) Study: applicants who have completed an Australian VET Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from any Australian Registered Training Organisation will be considered for entry. Applicants who have completed the Diploma of Hospitality Management may be eligible for advanced standing with credit, assessed case-by-case with the course leader.
Higher Education Study: applicants who have previously commenced or completed subjects within a higher education course are encouraged to apply. Applicants transferring from another provider may apply for advanced standing, assessed individually with credit granted where equivalency can be demonstrated.
Work and Life Experience: applicants with relevant work and life experience who completed secondary education more than two years prior, and have not undertaken VET or higher education study since, are encouraged to apply. Relevant experience may include mature age entry, employment or professional experience, community involvement, or other life experience demonstrating a minimum of five years' work experience in the hospitality industry or a related occupation.

International Students:

Age Requirement: applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of the course.
English Language Proficiency Requirements: IELTS overall score of 6.0 (Academic) or equivalent English language test.
Academic Requirements: successful completion of VCE Year 12, or overseas equivalent; or completion of an Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline; or partial or completed higher education study at a recognised university or non-university higher education provider.
All applications are assessed individually in accordance with Holmesglen's admissions policies.
Applicants who have completed the Diploma of Hospitality Management may be eligible for credit towards the first year of this degree.
