Common Questions
The Bachelor of Information Technology offers three majors: Application Development, Business Analysis, and Cyber Security. From your second term, you will begin to study units from your chosen major.
Yes, all three majors — Application Development, Business Analysis, and Cyber Security — are accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) at the professional level.
In your final year, you can choose between an internship or a capstone project. The internship (COIT13239) typically comprises 32 hours per week over 10 consecutive weeks with an approved host organisation, providing structured work-integrated learning in real-world settings. Alternatively, the capstone project involves industry-based projects allowing you to apply disciplinary knowledge to authentic workplace challenges.
You can customise your studies with a wide range of minors including: Animation and Motion Graphics, Application Development, Business Analysis, Cyber Security, Emerging Technologies, Entrepreneurship, ICT Management, Interactive Media Development, Liberal Studies, and Mathematics.
You must complete 23 units (144 credits) in total: 8 core units, one seven-unit major, one four-unit minor, and four elective units. At least one of your elective units must be a Level 3 unit.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
