Common Questions
The Bachelor of Information Technology offers two majors: Business Information Systems (BIS) and Digital Enterprise (DEN). The Business Information Systems major provides depth in business intelligence, business process improvement and social media strategy, while the Digital Enterprise major provides depth in network administration, cloud infrastructure and virtual systems and services.
Yes, the Bachelor of Information Technology is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) to meet ACS and international Seoul Accord graduate standards.
Students must complete 240 credit points across 24 units (each worth 10 credit points). The course comprises 11 Core ICT Units, 3 Core/Professional Skills Units, 4 Common Compulsory Major Units, and either 6 BIS Core Major or 6 DEN Core Major Units, spread across three years of full-time study.
International students must provide evidence of English proficiency completed within the last 2 years. Accepted qualifications include IELTS Academic 6.0 with no band less than 6.0, TOEFL 536 or better, TOEFL IBT 74 or better, TOEFL CBT 203 or better, Academic PTE overall 50 with no less than 50, Cambridge English CAE and CPE (from 2015) 169 or better, GCE A Levels with a C or better in English, or Kaplan Test of English (KTE) all bands B2.
Graduates can pursue careers as cyber security analysts, network engineers, data analysts, software developers, IT project managers, business analysts, multimedia experience designers, or developers of smart systems. Graduates may also offer computer support services to individuals and small to medium sized enterprises, or become employed as a computer services professional in an organisation.
