Common Questions
With the VU Block Model®, you study one subject at a time over four-week blocks, attending three-hour classes three days a week. This focused approach allows you to complete all assessments for each unit within the block and receive your results soon after — typically finishing a block on a Friday and receiving results the following Monday.
The VU Block Model® offers up to five start opportunities throughout the year, typically at the start of the year (February), Semester 1 Block 3 (May), mid-year (July), and Semester 2 Block 3 (October). Not all intake periods may be available for every course, so it's best to check the course page for specific start dates.
Yes. Full-time undergraduate students typically complete eight blocks per year, but may be able to fast-track by completing up to ten blocks across the year by taking optional winter and summer blocks. You also have the option to take a block off when life demands a break, and part-time study is available.
All assessments are completed within each four-week block, with results provided soon after. Assessment types may include hands-on activities or smaller tasks conducted in the classroom or online, group presentations, and a final product or assessment task at the end of each unit. Assessments are designed to support your best performance through early and ongoing feedback.
All bachelor degree courses at Victoria University's Melbourne and Sydney campuses are taught with the VU Block Model®. For confirmed campus availability specific to the Bachelor of Information Technology, it is recommended to contact VU directly on +61 3 9919 6100.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
