Common Questions
Kent's Bachelor of Information Technology offers five pathways: BIT (without Specialisation), and specialisations in Cyber Security, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Networking & Communication. Each specialisation consists of 6 prescribed units in addition to the 16 core units and the Capstone Project.
Yes. Sydney and Melbourne Campus delivery of the Bachelor of Information Technology (without Specialisation) and Bachelor of Information Technology with a Specialisation in Cyber Security are accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS).
The Bachelor of Information Technology is a 3-year, 144-credit-point program delivered over 6 trimesters. It comprises 22 units (6 credit-points each) plus a 12-credit-point Capstone Project. Students study 4 units per trimester, with a minimum of 8 units per year. Trimesters 1 & 2 are compulsory study periods for all continuing students.
Yes. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may reduce required credit in line with Kent's Course Credit and Articulation Policy and Procedures. Applicants who have completed a Diploma qualification or higher within the last ten years may be eligible for direct admission with credit transfers (advanced standing). Kent also has approved articulation agreements in place for certain VET courses which specify the number of course credits you may be entitled to.
Career opportunities span small and large organisations in Australia and globally. Depending on the pathway, graduates may work as Programmers, Software Engineers, Web Designers/Developers, IT Project Coordinators (without Specialisation); Cyber Security Analysts, Network Security Engineers, Penetration Testers (Cyber Security); Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Junior Data Scientists (Data Science); AI/ML Engineers, NLP Specialists, Computer Vision Developers (Artificial Intelligence); or Network Engineers, Cloud Infrastructure Engineers, Unified Communications Engineers (Networking & Communication). Graduates may also apply for postgraduate study, including Kent's Master of Information and Communication Technology.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
