Common Questions
FEE-HELP is available for UNSW College Applied Degrees for eligible domestic students. It covers tuition fees with no upfront costs, and repayments begin only when you start earning above the repayment threshold (set at $67,000 from 1 July 2025). The FEE-HELP loan limit in 2025 is $126,839.
You may be eligible for FEE-HELP if you are an Australian citizen who studies at least one unit while living in Australia, a New Zealand Special Category Visa (SCV) holder meeting long-term residency requirements, a permanent humanitarian visa holder, or a Pacific Engagement Visa (PEV) holder — and you study your entire course while living in Australia. You must also have an available HELP balance and provide your USI and tax file number before your first census date.
SA-HELP is an Australian Government loan available to eligible domestic students who do not wish to pay their Student Services and Amenities Fees (SSAF) upfront. For 2026, the SSAF is $124.33 per term for full-time students and $93.25 per term for part-time students. Note that domestic students commencing Diploma studies in January and May 2026 will not be charged SSAF for their first term; SSAF payments will be applicable from Term 3 2026. Please note that SA-HELP is currently not available for the May 2025 intake.
To apply for FEE-HELP, you must complete a Commonwealth Assistance Form via the eCAF portal. UNSW College will initiate a link to the Commonwealth Assistance portal as part of your enrolment process. You will need to provide your Unique Student Identifier (USI) and tax file number (TFN) before the Census Day. If you believe you are eligible but have not received your invite, you can submit a request through the contact us link or phone +61 2 8936 2222.
If you temporarily suspend your studies, your FEE-HELP status will remain in place. If you transfer to another course, you will need to complete a new FEE-HELP form. Voluntary repayments of any amount can be made directly to the ATO once the FEE-HELP debt has been reported.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
