Common Questions
Thanks to Bond's trimester study schedule, you can complete the full Bachelor of International Relations program in just two years (six semesters). Alternatively, you can take advantage of the time saving to combine the Bachelor of International Relations with a relevant undergraduate degree such as Law or Business, or you could complete a Bachelor of International Relations followed by a relevant postgraduate degree — completing a Bachelor and Master in three years.
The Bachelor of International Relations is made up of 24 subjects (240 credit points). In your first year, studies will include Bond's unique core subjects that ensure every student develops skills in critical thinking, collaboration, leadership, and integrity, along with a wide range of International Relations subjects and general electives. In your final year, you will delve deeper into the complexities of international relations, gaining analytical skills and conceptual understanding of contemporary global issues, and completing a major in your chosen specialist study area.
Students will engage in simulations that enable them to apply theory to practice. They will also have the opportunity to experience authentic international relations environments through for-credit internships and Model United Nations conferences around the world. Bond is a multi-award-winning regular participant in the Model United Nations program globally, and is the only university in Australia offering a dedicated Model UN subject. Bond also has the Bond University United Nations Students Association which hosts its own Model UN Conference each semester.
Graduates are working in Embassies, Missions, DFAT (Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade), Defence, Intelligence Agencies, Charities, and Non-Government organisations. An in-depth understanding of the world and the skills needed for its interpretation equip graduates for future employment in International Relations and many other areas where such capacities are required.
Yes, there is a Program Specific Scholarship called the New Colombo Plan Scholarship. The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region. In addition to a Study component, the Scholarship program may include an Internship, a Mentorship, or Language training.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
