Students have access to unique internships including placements in Washington, Vienna, and the South Australian Parliament. In the third year, students can also undertake industry projects or electives as part of their hands-on experience.
The guaranteed entry ATAR is 70.00. Alternative entry options include a STAT score of 150.0, a GPA of 4.5, or a TAFE/VET Certificate IV or above. A pathway option via the Arts | Diploma in Arts is also available. For international students, an IELTS overall score of 6.0 (with Speaking and Writing each at 6.0) or a Pearson overall score of 50 is required. There are no prerequisites or assumed knowledge requirements.
Yes. After your first year, you can focus on an area that interests you by choosing a minor. Available minors include History (International Relations), Gender Studies, and French (available as Beginners or Continuers), among others. You can also choose option topics and electives throughout the degree to tailor it to your career goals.
For 2026, the annual indicative fees are $17,399 for Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) students and $36,300 for Full Fee Paying (FFP) students. The course is offered with intake dates in March and July, and is deferrable.
Graduates can pursue careers in foreign affairs, policy, diplomacy, analytics, trade, and international business. Specific roles include Policy Adviser (typical salary $105K), Intelligence Analyst (typical salary $93K), Diplomat, Policy and Planning Manager, Government Relations Manager, and Public Affairs Manager. With further postgraduate study, careers can extend to Ambassador, International Development Consultant, Foreign Policy Advisor, Human Rights Advocate, Trade Negotiator, and Global Risk Analyst.
