When you study International Studies, you will analyse national and global issues, learn about the forces shaping the modern world and the theories that underpin our understanding of important global issues. Students are encouraged to undertake study abroad to further expand their skills. In the Bachelor of Business, you will gain practical, real-world experience and make professional connections. Requirements

Minimum Selection Rank of 70 (ATAR or IB Combined Rank plus any eligible adjustments) for guaranteed entry
Assumed Knowledge: any two units of English
Recommended Studies: English Advanced and any two units of Mathematics
Recent secondary education qualifications considered include: ATAR, IBAS, GCE A-Levels, New Zealand NCEA Level 3, and overseas senior secondary qualifications comparable to Australian qualifications
Students may be admitted via Early Admission (applications usually June–August each year)
For higher education study: must have completed at least half a year of full-time study (or part-time equivalent) at a Bachelor's degree level or higher
Work and life experience is generally not considered for admission; academic qualifications are the primary basis
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants may apply through UOW's Woolyungah Indigenous Centre's Indigenous Admissions Program (IAP)
Domestic applicants with overseas qualifications must provide academic records; course must be at least one-sixth complete; non-English documents must include an official English translation
English Language Proficiency: if English is not your first language, you must meet UOW's English Language Requirements; accepted tests include IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Cambridge, and OET; alternatively, complete an English course at UOW College

What is the minimum ATAR required to gain entry into the Bachelor of International Studies - Bachelor of Business?

Yes. How long does it take to complete this double degree, and is it available part-time?

The Bachelor of International Studies - Bachelor of Business takes 4.5 years to complete as a full-time student, or a part-time equivalent. A double degree at UOW is designed to take less time and cost less than studying the two degrees separately.

When can I apply and what are the intake dates for this course?

The course has two intakes: Autumn Session starting 2 March 2026, and Spring Session starting 27 July 2026. For Autumn 2026, the domestic UAC Early Bird application deadline is 30 September 2025, and the final UAC round deadline is 29 January 2026. For Spring 2026, the domestic direct application deadline is 31 May 2026 and the UAC final round deadline is 2 July 2026.

Can I study abroad as part of this course?

Yes. As part of the International Studies component of the degree, students are encouraged to undertake study abroad to further expand their skills and broaden their cultural understanding.
