This program is designed for students already enrolled in the Bachelor of International Studies/Bachelor of Laws program. To be admitted, students must have completed at least 160 credit points of law study (or 140 credit points if two Summer subjects are undertaken), demonstrate the likelihood of graduating with an Honours Weighted Average Mark (HWAM) of at least 70 or an Admission Average Mark (AAM) of at least 70, demonstrate satisfactory academic writing skills, and have the availability of a principal supervisor.
Graduates can pursue a broad range of careers including roles in Foreign Affairs, International Organisations, Media, Business and industry, Education and research, Courts and Law Firms, and as a Legal Practitioner.
Yes. Our graduates from this program are eligible to apply to the Legal Profession Admission Board for admission to legal practice in NSW after undertaking prescribed practical legal training.
Yes, part-time study is available for domestic students. However, the part-time option is not available to International Students on a Student Visa.
Yes, the program provides for one semester of study abroad during three years of full-time study. Students can also extend their professional and learning experiences through international exchange engagements, and certain subjects such as Foundations of Chinese Law, Law, Culture and Entrepreneurial Innovation in India, and Legal, Economic and Social Transformation in Taiwan require travel to the relevant country.
