Common Questions
The Bachelor of Journalism at Bond University takes 2 years (6 semesters) to complete. Bond also offers the option to complete a Bachelor of Journalism and a relevant master's degree within the same amount of time that a student at another university would take to complete just a bachelor's degree — meaning you can earn both degrees in approximately three years.
Bond is home to one of the largest film and television production facilities in south-east Queensland, including a fully equipped three-camera digital television studio, more than 40 editing stations and audio mixing suites, and the latest camera equipment. Students can also borrow industry-standard lighting, camera, and sound equipment from the Equipment Loan Store for use on their film projects.
Yes, students have the opportunity to undertake journalism and digital media internships in Australia and overseas, including New York, Washington, Beijing, and London. On-campus, students can also intern with major media organisations such as Channel 7, Channel 10, ABC, The Guardian, and the Australian Good Food Guide, among others, through Bond's long-standing industry partnerships.
Yes, Bond's journalism program offers more than 15 specialist majors, allowing you to develop a niche area of reporting or to add a complementary discipline such as public relations. A major consists of six subjects from one study area, while a minor consists of four subjects from one study area, giving you the flexibility to tailor your journalism degree to suit your career ambitions or personal interests.
The Bachelor of Journalism is offered with multiple intake dates throughout the year: May 2026, September 2026, January 2027, and May 2027, allowing students flexibility in when they begin their studies.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
