Students are required to complete 240 credit points of core units and 120 credit points of elective units, totalling 360 credit points across the three-year degree.
Yes. In SAH2650 Professional Experience: Internship, students undertake a minimum of 100 hours of professional placement or a project-based experience with an industry partner. In SAH3650 Professional Placement 1 and SAH3660 Professional Placement 2, students undertake a minimum of 225 hours per unit of professional placement with a relevant host organisation. Additionally, in units JBM2650, JBM3650 and JBM3660, students work in simulated on-campus TV and radio newsrooms using industry standard equipment, producing and presenting television and radio content live to air.
Yes. This course doesn't require an ATAR for entry. Applicants can apply using ECU's Creative Humanities Portfolio Entry pathway, or may satisfy academic admission requirements through alternatives such as an AQF Certificate IV, a University Preparation Course, the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test, or prior study at bachelor level.
Yes. Students can study Global Media and Communication in Perth and in the UK through a unique dual degree offered by ECU and the University of Portsmouth, gaining two qualifications in only 3.5 years full-time along with an international experience.
For domestic students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $14,500 (Commonwealth supported place). For international students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $37,700.
