Common Questions
The Bachelor of Journalism / Bachelor of Laws can be completed in 4 years (12 semesters) at Bond University. This is possible because of Bond's accelerated three-semester-per-year timetable, which means you can complete two degrees here in less time than it can take to graduate with just one degree at most other universities.
Students have opportunities to hone their skills by undertaking work experience or internships, including journalism internships with major media and communications organisations like Channel 7 and Channel 10. Students may also be involved in mooting teams that compete nationally and internationally, the Bond Legal Clinics Program, volunteering, and team-based projects. Journalism and digital media internships are available in Australia and abroad, including New York, Washington, Beijing, and London.
Students have the opportunity to specialise with a journalism minor or major in areas such as film & television, corporate storytelling, Australian studies, or global studies (sustainability). For the Law component, students can add a specialisation in areas such as corporate and commercial law, international and comparative law, climate law, or legal innovation and technology — the last of which is described as a world's first.
Yes, the Bachelor of Laws is an approved degree for the purpose of admission to legal practice. It prepares students for a career as a legal professional, both within Australia and overseas, providing a thorough grounding in essential areas of substantive law with an integrated skills and professionalism program embedded in the degree that focuses on core legal skills essential to the practice of law.
Students have access to state-of-the-art media resources, including one of the largest film/TV/digital media production facilities in south-east Queensland, featuring state-of-the-art news studios and multimedia editing suites. Law students study in Bond's multi-million-dollar Legal Skills Centre, featuring electronic moot courts modelled on the High Court of Australia.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
