Yes. Students in the Bachelor of Laws may apply to transfer into the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree once they have completed a minimum of 192 credit points and have attained an average mark of Distinction or above (70–100%). Students are assessed on the highest grades achieved in their top 12 Law units, an outline of a proposed thesis topic, and availability of a supervisor. Successful applicants enrol in Advanced Research Legal Methods and Advanced Legal Research Dissertation instead of 24 credit points of law electives.
To attain the Bachelor of Laws, students must complete 384 credit points consisting of: 96 credit points of First Year Core studies, 132 credit points of Professional Core studies, 108 credit points of Law Elective studies, and 48 credit points of Non-Law Elective studies. The course is delivered over four years full-time at the City Campus in Melbourne.
The Bachelor of Laws is offered as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) for eligible students (Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens), with indicative fees of AU$17,399 per year for a full-time student in 2026. Students may be able to access a HELP loan to defer their fees, which is repaid through the tax system once earnings exceed the compulsory repayment threshold. VU also offers a range of scholarships worth millions of dollars combined, supporting marginalised groups and rewarding high achievers.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
