Common Questions
At ECU, students gain hands-on advocacy experience through mooting competitions and have the rare opportunity to cross-examine WA Police officers as part of their training. Thanks to ECU's partnership with the Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre, students also work on real legal matters, applying their knowledge in authentic settings and developing the confidence and competence needed for a successful legal career.
The Bachelor of Laws at ECU is designed to fit around your life and is available both on-campus and online. On-campus options are available at the City Campus, Joondalup, South West, and Sri Lanka campuses, while online study is available for both full-time and part-time students in both Semester 1 and Semester 2.
Domestic students need an indicative ATAR of 85. Academic admission requirements (Band 5) may also be satisfied through completion of an AQF Advanced Diploma or equivalent, an Undergraduate Certificate, successfully completing 1 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider, a Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test, a University Preparation Course, an Indigenous University Orientation Course, or an Associate Degree. English language requirements (Band 3) also apply.
The Bachelor of Laws takes 4 years full-time or part-time equivalent to complete. Students are required to complete 23 core units and 9 recommended elective units, spread across 8 semesters. Electives can be chosen from streams including Criminal/Social Justice, Private Law, International Law, and Practicum.
Students will need to graduate to be eligible to register with the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia (LPBWA). Registration with the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia (LPBWA) is required to practice in the profession, and the Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) satisfies the academic requirements for this registration.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
