Common Questions
The Bachelor of Laws takes 3 years to complete full-time. Your first year comprises two semesters at Curtin Perth, while your second and third years are completed in trimesters at Curtin Law School, in the heart of Perth's legal precinct. This accelerated format is equivalent to a four-year law degree but enables you to complete your degree in three years.
Curtin's Bachelor of Laws provides three ways to gain practical legal experience: at the Jeanette Hacket Moot Court you'll participate in simulated court proceedings and develop skills in legal argument and debate; the John Curtin Law Clinic gives you real-world experience providing legal advice under the guidance of legal practitioners; and the Legal Internships Program allows you to work with a professional legal team or a barrister in a legal environment such as a law firm, court or community legal centre. You may also have opportunities for internships with Curtin Law School's partner organisations.
Yes. Curtin Law School offers a complete pathway to legal practice. After gaining your Bachelor of Laws, you can complete the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (also known as Practical Legal Training, or PLT). Together, the two qualifications meet the academic and PLT requirements to qualify for admission to the legal profession in Western Australia. The PLT program is approved by the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia and is the first specialised PLT program to be delivered by a WA university.
Yes, Curtin offers a range of double degrees with the Bachelor of Laws, including: Law and Arts, Law and Commerce, Law and Innovation, Law and Psychology, and Law and Science.
The Law degree enables you to study optional units to tailor your degree to your career interests. These include areas such as human rights law, forensic advocacy, employment law, environmental law and policy, law and technology, and native title law and policy.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
