Students can choose to enhance their knowledge through a specialisation, major or double major in areas including Climate Law, Contemporary Legal Issues, Corporate and Commercial Law, International and Comparative Law, Legal Practice, Legal Innovation and Technology, and Canadian Law and Practice. Bond also offers the world-first climate law and legal innovation and technology double majors.
Yes. If you wish to practise as a lawyer, you will need to apply to commence the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP) after completing the Bachelor of Laws. The GDLP can be completed online at Bond University.
From your first semester, you will develop practical legal skills including legal writing and reasoning, oral communication, advocacy, dispute resolution, negotiation, and legal ethics, all of which are embedded throughout the degree. You will also have access to the Bond Legal Clinics Program for work experience, law firm work experience opportunities facilitated by the Career Development Centre (CDC), a world class Legal Skills Centre with purpose-built rooms and moot courts, and an outstanding Mooting program.
The Bachelor of Laws at Bond University takes 2 years and 8 months (8 semesters) to complete. Intake dates are available in May 2026, September 2026, January 2027, and May 2027.
In your first year, you will complete foundational law subjects and subjects focusing on contract law, tort law, and criminal law, as well as University core subjects. In your second year, you will study compulsory law subjects such as property law, administrative law, and constitutional law, plus elective subjects of your choice. In your final year, you will complete your remaining compulsory law subjects and law electives, with a continued focus on work experience in preparation for graduation.
