The Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) is accredited by the Legal Practitioners Admission Board of the Northern Territory and provides the academic foundation for admission to legal practice in the Northern Territory and elsewhere in Australia. To be admitted to legal practice in Australia, you must also complete the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP), which can be taken through the College of Law, Sydney, and completed online.
Yes. You can complete the Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) 100% online, on campus, or a mix of both. If you choose to study online, you will have 24/7 access to CDU's online learning platform, recorded lectures and tutorial assistance, enabling you to study where, when and how it suits you.
You can complete the Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) in three years full-time or six years part-time. The course requires 240 credit points in total, made up of 13 compulsory core units (130 credit points) and 11 specialist elective units (110 credit points).
The annual tuition fee for full-time study in 2026 is AUD $31,728.00, which equates to $3,966.00 per 10 credit point unit (0.125 EFTSL). These fees are subject to increases annually, effective at the start of each calendar year. CDU also offers a number of scholarships to international students to assist with the cost of study.
There are a wide range of specialist electives available, including Legal History and Jurisprudence, Indigenous Peoples and the Legal System, Environmental and Planning Law, Comparative Legal Systems, Dispute Resolution, Human Rights Law, Intellectual Property Law, Moot Court, Conveyancing Law, Legal Clinic, and Research Paper, among others. Some electives such as Family Law, Public International Law, Customary Law, and Competition and Consumer Law are next offered in 2027.
