Common Questions
The Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Philosophy is completed over 5.25 years of full-time study or part-time equivalent, as stated by The University of Notre Dame Australia.
Yes, the program is available at two campuses: Fremantle (WA) and Sydney (NSW), both delivered on campus.
The University of Notre Dame Australia is among the only universities in Australia which offers this double degree. By combining law and philosophy, students develop the ability to consider issues using two of the most advanced forms of thinking and analysis in Western civilisation, encountering the works of great minds such as Aquinas, Socrates and Plato, while also gaining accreditation for admission to legal practice through the Bachelor of Laws component.
In Western Australia, applicants with recent secondary education require an indicative ATAR/Selection Rank of 80 or an International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 29. Applicants with higher education need successful completion of at least 4 subjects at an undergraduate level or higher with a GPA greater than 5.5. VET applicants require successful completion of an AQF Diploma or higher in a relevant discipline. Work and life experience applicants must be 20 years of age as at 1 March in the year of intake and meet additional criteria including STAT results or equivalent Year 12 qualifications.
Yes, an Honours award is available for this program. Further information can be found in the Bachelor of Law (Honours), Bachelor of Philosophy regulations, or by contacting the School of Law & Business. The Honours component includes an Advanced Research Project (two courses) as a law elective, and an additional learning outcome requiring graduates to critically evaluate, analyse, and deploy evidence in support of a research thesis and communicate their findings in both oral and written form.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
