Common Questions
If you choose to study full-time, you can graduate with two degrees in 5.5 years. The first four years are delivered in semesters at Curtin Perth, while the fifth year, plus one trimester, is delivered at Curtin Law School in Perth city.
Yes. Curtin Law School offers a complete pathway to legal practice — after gaining your Bachelor of Laws, you can complete the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (PLT), and together the two qualifications meet the academic and PLT requirements to qualify for admission to the legal profession in Western Australia. The course is also accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council, and graduates can apply for associate membership of the Australian Psychological Society. For full general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, you must complete a further two years of training.
While studying in Perth city, you'll gain practical experience by undertaking simulated proceedings in our high-tech moot court and working on real cases at the John Curtin Law Clinic. You'll also benefit from the proximity of the Supreme Court, the District Court and the Federal Court, and from relationships with Curtin academics and practising solicitors and barristers based at Curtin Law School.
Graduates can pursue careers as policy advisors, social researchers, support workers, youth workers, program officers, and mental health advocates. With further study, graduates can become lawyers or psychologists. Relevant industries include law, business, healthcare, mining and resources, government, non-profit organisations, and education.
You must meet Curtin's English language requirements. For IELTS Academic, you need an overall band score of 6.5, with minimum scores of 6 in each of Writing, Speaking, Reading, and Listening. If you've completed a different English test or qualification, you may be able to use it to meet this requirement by checking accepted English tests on Curtin's English language requirements page.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
