Common Questions
Yes. The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is a Legal Practitioners' Admissions Board (LPAB) approved law degree, meaning graduates are eligible for admission to the Australian Legal Profession. To become a solicitor, you must also complete LPAB approved Practical Legal Training. QUT is one of the few Australian Law Schools to offer approved Practical Legal Training through its Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
You can complete both the Bachelor of Property Economics and the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 5.5 years full-time, or 11 years part-time. Intakes are available in February and July each year.
The Bachelor of Property Economics meets the education requirements for professional accreditation and membership at the Australian Property Institute, the Valuers Registration Board of Queensland, and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
The ATAR/selection rank threshold is 84.00, which is the lowest adjusted score to which QUT made an offer in Semester 1, 2026. If you achieve an ATAR or selection rank of 87.00 or higher (including any adjustments) and satisfy all other admission requirements, you are guaranteed an offer for this course in the Semester 1 offer rounds.
You will gain a strong foundation in key areas of law including contract law, legal research, equity and trusts, constitutional law, administrative law, and commercial and personal property law. You'll also have the opportunity to explore emerging areas such as environment, social and governance (ESG) issues and law, technology and innovation, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders perspectives on law and the legal system.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
