Develop the legal judgement and understanding of crime and justice to help shape the future of the justice system with La Trobe University's Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/Bachelor of Criminology.
In this double degree, you will build a strong foundation in Australian law while exploring the complex causes of crime, offending behaviour and the institutions that respond to them. You'll study legal principles, criminal law, advocacy, negotiation and dispute resolution alongside criminology, learning how evidence, technology and social responsibility are reshaping crime prevention, legal process and responses to offending. You'll also examine contemporary approaches to justice, including trauma-informed and restorative practice, and how they contribute to safer, more effective justice outcomes.

VCE: Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.
HSC: One of English Standard, English Advanced (Band 3), English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 4).
Selection rank adjustments
HSC: Applicants who successfully complete one of the following HSC or equivalent Year 12 courses will have their selection rank increased by one point per study: Performance Band 3 in any business subject, any humanities subject, any language other than English, Legal Studies, Mathematics Standard 2, Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1, Mathematics Extension 2; English Standard or English Advanced (Band 4); English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 5). Overall, selection ranks can be increased by a maximum of five points.
