If you already have a degree, you can complete a Bachelor of Laws with Honours in just three years. The course requires completion of 288 credit points consisting of 252 credit points of Core Law studies and 36 credit points of Law Elective studies.
Yes. The course is accredited by the Victorian Legal Admissions Board (VLAB) as satisfying the Board's academic requirement for admission. Graduates of the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (Graduate Entry) meet the academic and professional requirements to be admitted to legal practice in Australia.
This course is available as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) for eligible students. The indicative fee for a full-time student in 2026 is AU$17,399 per year. This fee is a guide only, based on a typical full-time study load, and does not include materials such as textbooks or the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF). You may also be able to get a HELP loan to pay for your studies.
You'll gain authentic experience through VU's partnerships with public-sector authorities such as the Magistrates' Courts and community legal services, as well as private law firms. You'll also complete the unit 'Internships and Law Practice' as part of the course. The Queen Street law hub on the City Campus is located in the heart of Melbourne's legal district, and features a specialised law library, legal research centres including the Sir Zelman Cowen Centre, and a mooting court.
