The Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Cyber Security is accredited by the Victorian Legal Admissions Board and the Australian Computer Society. Graduates who meet VIT language competency requirements are also eligible for provisional registration by the Victorian Institute of Teaching as secondary teachers, and by reciprocal arrangements are eligible for provisional registration in all Australian states and territories.
Successful completion of the Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Cyber Security requires 500 credit points in total. This comprises 20 core units for the Bachelor of Laws (250 credit points), 8 core units for the Bachelor of Cyber Security (100 credit points), 8 major units for the Bachelor of Cyber Security (100 credit points), and 4 Law Elective units (50 credit points). All units are valued at 12.5 credit points unless otherwise stated.
For domestic students in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), the yearly fee is approximately $13,467 AUD, with a total course fee of approximately $67,335 AUD. A Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) of $373 AUD (2026 capped amount) also applies. International students should note that indicative fees are based on a standard study load per year and are subject to annual review. Domestic students in a CSP may be eligible for a HECS-HELP loan to cover all or part of their contribution.
Yes, the course includes a Professional Experience in Law component spread across three units: Professional Experience in Law 1 (LAW10016), which involves a 150-hour placement, Professional Experience in Law 2 (LAW20018), and Professional Experience in Law 3 (LAW30016). Students who participate in a six- or 12-month professional placement will be subject to an increase in total course fees.
