class="m-0 section-title__container anchorname" id="career"> Career Bachelor of Laws graduates have the foundational legal knowledge required for a career as a legal practitioner, or in both legal and non-legal roles in a variety of law-related fields. Combined with professional communication skills, this prepares you for a range of careers in areas including legal firms, corporate counsel roles and government as well as legal aid and community law, diverse NGOs, in-house (with corporates, unions, etc), business, the media, politics and academia. To be eligible to be admitted to practise law in Australia, you will need to complete the Practical Legal Training (PLT) requirements, either through one year of Supervised Workplace Training with a law firm or an approved PLT course. The PLT course can be undertaken on a fee-paying basis through Leo Cussen Centre for Law or The College of Law. The Bachelor of Professional Communication component of this double degree prepares you for a career in the communication industry by providing diverse opportunities to engage in the different aspects of the field. Professional recognition and accreditation Victorian Legal Admissions Board (VLAB) The Bachelor of Laws component of this double degree satisfies the academic requirements for graduates admission to the Australian legal profession. Accredited Public Relations major The Public Relations major within the Bachelor of Professional Communication is accredited by the Communication and Public Relations Australia (CPRA) , the peak body for the industry.
