The first year covers the core sciences. In second year, you choose electives from a wide selection of subjects such as pathophysiology, exercise and cardio-respiratory physiology, genetics, molecular biology, immunology, Indigenous studies, public health, and all specialised areas within chemistry, with potential to also create minors in many of these and other areas.
The minimum score for guaranteed entry is a Selection Rank of 75. Your Selection Rank is your ATAR or IB Combined Rank plus any adjustments you are eligible to receive, such as adjustments based on subjects studied, school location, or equity and access schemes.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Medical and Health Sciences can pursue careers as a Healthcare Educator, Laboratory Manager, Medical Scientist, Medical Services Manager, Pathology Scientist, Pharmaceutical Scientist, Research Scientist, or Technical Writer, among other roles in medical research and clinical health fields in both private industry and hospital settings.

This one-year degree offers students a pathway to expand their knowledge in their chosen area of interest and achieve their research aspirations.
The course has two intakes: Autumn Session starting 2 March 2026 (domestic UAC final round application deadline: 29 January 2026) and Spring Session starting 27 July 2026 (domestic UAC final round application deadline: 2 July 2026). International students should apply by 9 December 2025 for Autumn and 5 May 2026 for Spring.
