Students can choose from the following majors: Health and Medical Research, Immunology and Infectious Diseases, Physiology, Neuroscience and Anatomy, Molecular Medicine, and Medical Studies. Each major allows you to specialise in a specific area of medical science and work toward distinct career pathways in research, diagnostics, medicine, or health sciences.
The final (fourth) year focuses on an independent research project in your chosen science discipline. You will gain advanced knowledge and skills in literature review, experiment planning, time management, organisation, and science communication. Core topics include Research Methods, Research Communication and Translation, Contemporary Issues in Health Research, and the Health Honours Thesis. You'll have access to world-class facilities at the Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute (FHMRI).
There are no specific placement requirements, but some labs may have vaccination requirements, working with children checks, or police checks if working with patients. You will have the opportunity to work in laboratories of your choice, developing hands-on skills supported by the Flinders Research Education and Development (RED) Hub.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
