Common Questions
Students can select a major in Software Engineering or Cybersecurity, or specialise in Cloud Networks. All Bachelor of Networking degrees at MIT share the same common core units, with the major or specialisation providing additional depth in the chosen area.
Yes. The Bachelor of Networking and the Bachelor of Networking (Major in Cybersecurity) are provisionally accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) at the Professional Level. MIT's courses are also accredited by TEQSA (Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency), Australia's independent national quality assurance and regulatory agency for higher education. The course also prepares students for Microsoft and Cisco certificates such as Microsoft Server Administration, CCNA, CCNA Wireless, and CCNA Security.
To receive the Bachelor of Networking degree, students must undertake two final year project units: BN301 Industry Based Project 1 and BN304 Industry Based Project 2. The industry-based project is designed to provide students with real-world experience, working for an industry client on a project focused within their discipline of study. If a third party is required to find a project for the student, the student will incur an additional fee.
Graduates can find employment in areas of network management, system administration and ICT services delivery and management within a wide range of public and private enterprises. Salaries are typically over $100k. Job roles include Network Manager, Network Analyst, Network Design Engineer, Mobile Applications Developer, Help Desk Manager, Chief Information Security Officer, Systems Engineer, Forensic Computer Analyst, Information Security Analyst, Penetration Tester, Security Architect, IT Security Engineer, Security Systems Administrator, and IT Security Consultant.
To graduate from the Bachelor of Networking, students must complete 360 credit points overall, with each unit worth 15 credit points. The course comprises 18 core units plus 4 major units (BN223, BN309, BN323, and BN324) plus 2 elective units, delivered across 6 trimesters. Four units per trimester is a full-time load, and intakes are available in March, July, and November.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
