About This Course

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Networking and Internet of Things is a four-year discipline that combines electronics, embedded systems, telecommunications, and computer science knowledge to enable graduates to develop hardware, software and systems for electronics, computing, communication networks and IoT applications. The course introduces science and engineering foundations necessary for modern graduate engineers. Networking & IoT graduates from the Sydney Institute of Technology and Engineering (SITE) will be leaders in innovation and development of new and emerging technologies that will impact societies, industries, and the world as a whole. This course will enable students to learn theoretical as well as practical knowledge and skills in areas of electronics, computing, communications and IoT. Graduates will have advanced knowledge and skills to solve engineering and scientific problems in current and emerging industries.

Domestic Students (Recent Secondary Graduates — within past 2 years):
Achieved a minimum ATAR of 73 or equivalent
Achieved NSW (or equivalent) Band 4 Advanced Mathematics or higher (Extension I or II)
Physics at HSC level is highly recommended
Bonus points may apply: 2 bonus points for Band 5 in Advanced Mathematics and/or Physics and/or Computing; 4 bonus points for Band 6 in Advanced Mathematics and/or Physics and/or Computing
OR: Successfully completed an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with a minimum of 27
OR: Holds an approved Higher Education or VET qualification at AQF Level 5 or above in a relevant Engineering and Technology field, with results at a minimum of 70% per subject and equivalent mathematics requirements
International Students (Recent Secondary Graduates — within past 2 years):
Completed a secondary education qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12 as assessed by SITE's admissions office
Achieved a result equivalent to a domestic ATAR of 73 (country-specific equivalencies apply, e.g. China Gaokao ≥70, IB Diploma ≥27, India ≥65% overall in 4 major subjects, Malaysia STPM GPA ≥3.0, Nepal GPA ≥3.2, etc.)
Must meet English Language Proficiency requirements
International Students Currently Studying Onshore in Australia:
Must have studied at current higher education provider for ≥6 months from course commencement
Must be studying an accredited course at AQF level equal to or higher than the SITE course applied for
Must have completed equivalent of Year 12 Advanced Mathematics (minimum Band 4 HSC Mathematics or equivalent)
Physics in senior secondary or higher education is recommended
English Language Proficiency:
Domestic applicants who completed secondary or post-secondary education in a recognised English-speaking country may apply for an exemption
International applicants (English not first language): IELTS Academic overall score of 6.0, with minimum 6.0 in reading, writing, and speaking, and 5.5 in listening (within two years)
Other accepted English tests include TOEFL iBT (details outlined in admission criteria document)
