The professional practice component provides students with 800–1200 hours of full-time clinical experience where they apply nursing theory to practice. To be eligible to attend Professional Workplace Experience, students must meet mandatory requirements set out by state-based accrediting bodies and the University.
Yes. The Bachelor of Nursing is fully accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). A graduate will be eligible to register with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) and become a practising registered nurse in any area of nursing as a beginning practitioner. Students will also be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia (NMBA) while they are enrolled in the program.
The first year fee is $4,627 as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). This is a subsidised fee type available to eligible domestic students.
Yes. Students enrolling into Stage 6 (final semester) can choose one elective course from the following specialisations: Advanced Mental Health Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Maternal Care, Paediatric Nursing, Palliative Care Nursing, Perioperative Nursing, or Rural and Remote Nursing.
Yes. Enrolled Nurses (Division 2) are eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Nursing. They must have completed an ANMAC Accredited Diploma of Nursing HLT54121 or HLT54115 within the previous 10 years and hold current registration with Ahpra as an Enrolled Nurse (Div. 2) free of conditions, notations or undertakings. Eligible applicants may receive Advanced Standing for up to eight units including Foundations of Nursing, Human Body 1, Health and Wellness, Professional Practice 1 & 2, Human Body 2, Illness Prevention and Management, and Mental Health and Wellbeing.
