Bachelor of Nursing

International:

• Minimum age: applicants must be 18 years of age by 30 September of the first year of the course, to meet mandatory requirements for clinical placements; underage applicants who cannot meet this requirement are not eligible for an offer.
• Prerequisite subjects: English (VCE Units 3&4 score 25 for EAL/Other, or IB equivalents) and Mathematics (VCE Units 1&2, satisfactory completion of two units in General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics, or IB Mathematics Applications/Analysis at Standard or Higher Level score 3); no Science prerequisite subject.
• English entry requirements (Level Other, reflecting NMBA nursing registration standards): overall score 7.0 for IELTS (Academic), with minimum band scores: Listening 7.0, Reading 7.0, Writing 6.5 and Speaking 7.0 (or equivalent approved English test scores).
• Additional NMBA English language proficiency requirement: in addition to the Monash English requirement, applicants must either declare English as their primary language (with at least 6 years of primary/secondary education taught and assessed solely in English in a recognised country, including 2+ years between Years 7-12) or provide evidence of meeting the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia's (NMBA) English language skills registration standard, or hold current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.

Domestic:

• Same minimum age (18 by 30 September of first year), prerequisite subjects (English and Mathematics) and NMBA additional English proficiency requirement as international applicants.
• Selection is ATAR-based (Clayton), assessed on a range of criteria: 2026 lowest ATAR offer 66.85; the Monash Guarantee threshold for 2026 entry is 70.
• Available Full Time or Part Time (6 years part time) at both Clayton and Peninsula; international students are Full Time only, a visa condition.
• No separate English-language test score required for domestic students, but the NMBA proficiency declaration/evidence requirement still applies.
