Bachelor of Nursing

Domestic Students:

• All applicants must complete an online Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) test and achieve a minimum Level 5 in both the English and Maths Initial Assessments.
• English language requirements: the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia requires applicants to demonstrate English language skills either as a primary-language speaker or by meeting minimum scores in an approved test (IELTS Academic, Cambridge C1/C2, OET, PTE Academic or TOEFL iBT).
• Recent secondary education applicants need a minimum ATAR of 50, with Units 1/2 or Units 3/4 Mathematics and a study score of at least 25 in English.
• VET and Higher Education entrants are assessed on their full academic record and may be eligible for credit transfer or recognition of prior learning; VET entrants must also hold AHPRA registration as an enrolled nurse.
• Mature-aged applicants may apply for direct entry based on work and life experience.
• Before starting clinical placement, students must be at least 18, declare their health and immunisation status, complete an annual National Police Records Check, hold a valid Working with Children Check, and meet required immunisations including MMR, Hepatitis A/B, tuberculosis screening, DTP, polio, influenza and varicella, plus full COVID-19 vaccination including booster.

International Students:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at course commencement and have successfully completed VCE Year 12 or the overseas equivalent.
• English language requirements: IELTS Academic overall 7.0 (Listening 7, Reading 7, Speaking 7, Writing 6.5) or equivalent scores in Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency, OET, PTE Academic or TOEFL iBT.
• Before undertaking clinical placement, students must be at least 18, declare their health and immunisation status, complete an annual National Police Records Check, hold a valid Working with Children Check, and provide evidence of required immunisations including Measles/Mumps/Rubella, Hepatitis A and B, tuberculosis screening, Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis, polio, influenza and varicella.
