Bachelor of Nutrition

Domestic students — Admission criteria:

• Australian secondary school certificate, or equivalent
• Successful completion of a Vocational qualification (AQF Level 4), or above, or equivalent, from a registered training organisation (RTO)
• Successful completion of at least 0.5 EFTSL at AQF level 5, 0.25 EFTSL at AQF level 6 or above, or equivalent
• Alternatively, successful completion of Year 10 or equivalent together with a minimum of three years' full-time relevant work experience demonstrating skills and knowledge gained through paid or unpaid employment, formal learning and/or non-formal learning (presented on a current resume with attached cover letter)

Check the domestic course fee schedule for the cost of your course. Eligible Australian students may choose to defer some, or all, of their tuition fees through FEE-HELP. Health, Alumni and Industry scholarships are available.

International students — Admission criteria:

• Successful completion of at least 0.5 EFTSL at AQF level 5, 0.25 EFTSL at AQF level 6 or above, or equivalent
• Australian secondary school certificate, or equivalent Senior Secondary qualification, or Baccalaureate Diploma
• Academic IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 5.5) or equivalent

Check the international course fee schedule for the cost of your course. Onshore international students requiring a student visa should choose campus-based / blended options. Course fees can be paid across three study periods, with each instalment due before the beginning of the academic stage census date. A range of financial scholarships is available to support international students.

If you have already completed a qualification or gained skills through life or work experience, you may be able to credit this against your degree through Recognition of Prior Learning or Course Credit transfer, with further study pathway options also available.

Students who do not meet the above criteria are required to undertake Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) testing from an Australian Government-approved provider and demonstrate competency at exit level three (3) of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both reading and numeracy.

The Bachelor of Nutrition prepares you for a range of careers in Nutrition, with a focus on population health, nutrition-related health promotion and disease prevention. On completion, you'll be open to roles in community nutrition, health promotion and advocacy, working with consumer organisations, food industry, government departments and community groups. This degree in Nutrition also provides a pathway to the Master of Public Health or Dietetics. On graduation, you may be eligible for registration with the Nutrition Society of Australia as an Associate Nutritionist and, with a further three years of relevant work experience and/or postgraduate studies, as a Registered Public Health Nutritionist or Registered Nutritionist.
