The University has commenced the accreditation process with Dietitians Australia, and the program is on track to meet all accreditation requirements ahead of the first cohort's graduation (accreditation expected early 2026). A graduate of an accredited program is eligible to join the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) Program. All enquiries regarding the progress of the accreditation review should be directed to the Dietetics Program Authority, Associate Professor Sara Grafenauer.
This is Australia's first and only combined degree in nutrition, dietetics and food innovation. Unlike many dietetics programs, this degree prepares graduates for a much wider scope of practice by blending nutrition, dietetics and food innovation across five years. It includes an embedded interprofessional practice stream with students from physiotherapy, exercise physiology and pharmacy programs, early introduction of mental health first aid and counselling training, and strong industry connections across health, agriculture, food businesses and not-for-profit sectors. The program also prepares graduates to deliver dietetic counselling to people from diverse religious, cultural, regional, remote and disability backgrounds.
For domestic students in a Commonwealth Supported Place, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $9,500, with an indicative full fee to complete the degree of $52,000. For international students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $63,000, with an indicative full fee to complete the degree of $349,000. All fees are subject to annual review and may vary depending on the courses selected and enrolment year.
As a student enrolled in the UNSW Dietetics Program, you will be registered as a student with Dietitians Australia and must meet a range of professional requirements. These include demonstrating knowledge and compliance with relevant national and state laws, meeting ongoing immunisation requirements, managing ethical issues in academic and clinical environments, communicating effectively in spoken and written English, demonstrating adequate sensory abilities (hearing, vision, touch and taste), applying fine and gross motor skills for patient examination including anthropometry, and providing basic life support as required. Students must also maintain professional behaviour and comply with requirements relating to informed consent, confidentiality and privacy.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
