About This Course

A Bachelor of Nutrition Science degree trains students in human nutrition, preparing them to register as an associate nutritionist in Australia and the United Kingdom. International:

Minimum age: at least 17 years old at the time of enrolment.
English entry requirements (Level B): overall score 6.5 for IELTS (Academic), with minimum band scores: Listening 6.5, Reading 6.5, Writing 6.0 and Speaking 6.0 (or equivalent approved English test scores).
Prerequisite subjects: English only (VCE Units 3&4 score 25 for EAL or Other, or IB equivalents); no Mathematics prerequisite and no Science prerequisite subject required for this course.

Selection is ATAR-based (Clayton, Scholars Program/Dietetics Pathway): 2026 lowest selection rank to which an offer was made was 70; lowest ATAR to which an offer was made in 2026 was 64.05; the Monash Guarantee threshold for 2026 entry is 70.
Full Time only; no English-language test required for domestic students.

Graduates are eligible for membership with the Nutrition Society of Australia and the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists. Career outcomes include: nutritionist in public health, food industry, or research; health promotion officer; food technologist or product developer; sports nutrition advisor; nutrition policy advisor; and nutrition educator or communicator. Graduates can also apply for the Master of Nutrition and Dietetics, an accelerated pathway to becoming an Accredited Practising Dietitian in just 18 months, or pursue honours or PhD programs in nutrition science.
