Common Questions
During your paramedicine degree, you'll complete work placements in different models of care, including ambulance services. VU students currently complete placements with organisations including Ambulance Victoria and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Ambulance Victoria and VU have a strong working relationship involving the co-location of Ambulance Victoria resources on VU campuses, and Ambulance Victoria remains a strong employer of VU graduates.
Yes. The Bachelor of Paramedicine at Victoria University is accredited by the Paramedicine Accreditation Committee and is approved by the Paramedicine Board of Australia. While studying, you'll be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and students who complete this course are eligible to apply to practise as Paramedics in Australia.
The Bachelor of Paramedicine is offered as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) for eligible students (Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens). The indicative fee for a full-time student in 2026 is AU$9,537 per year. This is a guide only based on a typical full-time study load and does not include materials such as textbooks or the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF). You may be able to use a HELP loan to pay for your studies.
Students can develop their skills in VU's clinical simulation suites on the St Albans Campus. Working with simulated patients and technologically complex manikins, you'll learn and practise your skills and receive specific and immediate feedback. You'll be supported by specialist staff who work with discipline-specific experts to develop authentic practice scenarios with realistic contextual details and well-briefed participants.
Yes. If you have completed the Diploma of Emergency Health Care (HLT51020) with providers other than Victoria University, you may be eligible for a maximum of 48 credit points toward the Bachelor of Paramedicine, with credit potentially granted for first-year units such as Cultural Safety, Paramedic Law Ethics and Professionalism, Paramedic Clinical Practice 1, and Anatomy and Physiology 1, depending on the units completed within the diploma. Students who completed the Diploma at Victoria University may receive up to 96 credit points and are guaranteed a place in the course.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
