Yes, this course is accredited by the Paramedicine Board of Australia, in accordance with the 2020 accreditation standards for paramedicine as stipulated by the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law, for registration as a paramedic in Australia.
Students get hands-on placement experience from very early in the course. As one student noted, 'We were on placement within the first few weeks, which is a huge advantage. Getting early exposure helps with confidence and makes the transition from university to on-road work feel less daunting.' Placement opportunities continue throughout the degree, particularly in second year where you build industry connections.
Yes, an optional Honours year is available. Throughout the Honours year, you'll engage in advanced coursework and research, developing skills that will set you apart in the field of paramedicine. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced research mentors, gaining valuable insights and experience in conducting scholarly research. Topics include Health Care Delivery, Paramedic Education, and Workforce Sustainability.
The 2026 annual indicative fees are $9,537 for Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) students and $42,600 for Full Fee Paying (FFP) students.
If you don't have the required ATAR, there are several alternative entry options available, including STAT (Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test), GPA from previous study, and pathway options through Medical Science, Nursing (Preregistration), or Health Sciences. Applicants can also apply using TAFE/VET qualifications, Foundation Studies, or adult entry options.
