To attain the Bachelor of Physical Education and Sport Science, students are required to complete 288 credit points consisting of 96 credit points of First Year Core units, 144 credit points of Professional Core units, and 48 credit points of Minor studies from an approved list.
Yes. If you complete the Bachelor of Physical Education and Sport Science and then go on to complete a Master of Teaching (Secondary Education), you'll be able to teach health, physical education and a third subject of your choice. If you complete a Master of Teaching (Primary Education) after this degree, you'll be able to teach in primary schools.
VU has over 200 industry partnerships including local schools and community groups, The Real Madrid Graduate School Universidad Europea, the Australian Sports Commission, the Australian Institute of Sport, and the Western Bulldogs Football Club. Students also have access to a $68 million high-technology teaching and research facility at Footscray Park Campus with 29 new labs fitted with the latest technology, including biomechanics, biochemistry, exercise physiology, and motor learning and skilled performance labs, and an Altitude Hotel.
This course is offered as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) for eligible Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens. The indicative fee for a full-time student in 2026 is AU$17,399 per year. This is a guide only and does not include materials such as textbooks or the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF). HELP loans are available and repaid through the tax system once you earn above the compulsory repayment threshold.
