Practical experience is embedded into the Bachelor of Physiotherapy, including over 30 weeks of supervised placements. You will train at the JCU Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Clinic at JCU Townsville, Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas, and take part in clinical placements in urban, rural, and remote locations, equipping you to provide effective healthcare in any setting.
Yes, the Bachelor of Physiotherapy at JCU is accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. Graduates can register to practise with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and become members of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
The minimum adjusted ATAR required for entry is 89. Recommended knowledge includes English (Units 3/4, C), Mathematical Methods (Units 3/4, C), plus one of Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Physical Education, Psychology or Health (Units 3/4, C); or equivalent. Alternate pathways are also available.
The estimated annual Commonwealth Supported Fee for a full-time study load is $8,920 AUD (2026 fees, subject to change). This estimate is variable and subject to fluctuation depending on choice of elective subjects. A Student Services and Amenities Fee is also required. Fee deferral via HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP and scholarships are available if eligible.

Career opportunities include working in aged care services, community health centres, hospitals, private practices, schools, or sports and rehabilitation clinics. You can also pursue a career internationally, with the qualification recognised through the Australian Physiotherapy Council accreditation.
